As the new year starts, so does another design project (😓).
To be fair, I'm actually looking forward to this one, I've always wanted to understand the techniques of creating garments and patterns by draping on the mannequin.
The works of Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama, particularly from the My Eternal Soul exhibitions have captured my interests and I can already imagine a few textiles approaches I could create with the inspirations from her paintings and sculptures. To inform the shape aspects of design, I have been inspired by the traditional Japanese wear, the Kimono.
